F7 Premier (NYC) stops

I have MTH Proto 2 Premier AA set. Head engine works by itself fine but rear sees to stop operation after start up so that the pair stops after an inch or so. Suspect that the rear engine is not operational (motor wise), even though it lights up, and that causes power to trip breaker. Any ideas?

Bad tether, pushed in side frame, mechanical binding from grit, tire stuck, motor binding, lots of little things or a board problem too. G

Got to the problem. Only when smoke is on does it short out, otherwise works fine. Have another engine that does the same. Smoke units must be compromised.

Either element shorting to smoke housing, or bad fan motor. G
