Don;

I actually was doing some of this today. On the underside of the switch, the controller wire is attached by two small clips, one is easily bent up, the other is attched by a small phillips head screw. The end of the controller wire has four colored wires held in place by four small slotted screws. If you losen all the screws, the controller wire can be removed and then passed through a hole in the table And reattached.

Any good options?

Thanks for the help,

Yes to the above!

I simply remove the four small screw on the bottom of the controller, then loosen the very small screws that hold the wire in.   Then route the wire from the switch thru a small hole in the table, and to the control panel.

I often extend the wires before reattaching to the controller, for those switches far away from the control panel.

I rewire all the switches with a four foot long 4 conductor wire. Then I connect that to a terminal strip under the table where ever the switch is located.

Then another 4 conductor takes it to the SC-2s and another terminal strip. From there under the control area, I connect the controller wires.

I get total flexibility this way and have a central place to use the new Lionel LCS switch monitoring module...when it comes out.
