Hello , I have a fastrack crossover that a couple of older (early 70s I think) lionel cars will bind and derail when passing through it . My newer cars seem to work ok - the wheelsets seem a little wider. Is there any info on the years of production to look for short of measuring the wheels ? thanks

I have a 22.5 degree crossover, and some of my cars "wobble" when they go over it. I have not had derailment issues, however my speed over the crossover is typically less than 15 SMPH. Some engines can "stall' on the crossover if the speed is below 8 SMPH.
If you can isolate the problem to a few cars, you can always change the trucks to a style that does not give you any problems.

Run the cars in slow motion by hand to see what happens. Pretty simple to just measure and compare to one with no problem.
The older wheelsets are slightly over 1/16 in narrower than the newer Staley tank car , but they look easy to change . Anybody know of a souce to get the proper size ? Thanks
