I’ve been digging around to see if anyone has done a fastrack turnout with a tortoise switch motor to no avail. I’ve got a small holiday layout oval I’m building for real this year, and it has two turnouts which let me park the longer train or the Christmas trolley so I can easily run bothWhen I want. I’m using DCC to control it all. I would like a DCC switch motor to let me both switch the turnouts and run a red/green signal so I know which direction each switch is running.

I took one turnout apart and it would be complicated I think. Cobalt makes an in-line unit that might work, but it’s pricey. It would also require turnout modification. I’m not opposed to spending on this, but would like to limit the impact. I can also modify the turnout as needed, but am not sure if anyone has a suggestion on what would be smart.

Has anyone done this, or is there a better DCC turnout control to use? The layout is small enough to do this manually for sure, but I like the control option.
