If you use all those small pieces,

-wire them together electrically so you are not trusting all the pins for connectivity

-put them in the middle of a long run and don't put all three of them next to a switch or a curve.

The little pieces are not as dimensionally stable as a solid piece of track and could cause problems going into/out of a switch or a curve.

I'd just try it where ever you need it. I have a number of short pieces where needed and have not had any issues with Fastrack. An occasional screw here or there keeps them.
