Father and Son day chasing and riding steam trains!

My son and myself had a great day on Sunday at the Huckleberry Railroad. It was their annual Railfan Weekend. We rode the 10am photo train and the old Rio Grande 464 did several photo runbys.  After that we went to the backshop tour and saw the progress of US 152's rebuild.  After returning to the village we toured all the layouts they had on display and took another train ride, this time in the caboose while sitting in the cupola.

This is what I like about steam railroads.Every body may have the same locomotives but they had their own ways of doing things.Whistles head light placement the type of locomotives they used for freight.Even diesels back then had different from other railroads.Heck as a kid I rember seeing a diesel locomotive with a swing bell.And once in a while I saw a steel braced wooden boxcar.Every railroad had their own ways of doing things.
