Has anyone tried using fiber optics to illuminate buildings? Our Smokey Mountain Model Railroaders Club is looking to upgrade our many MTH buildings.

I don’t think fiber optics would illuminate an entire building, just pin point light at the tip. You may want to consider LED lighting with a variable voltage to get the desired illumination.
Since this post has any member used the fiber optic lighting on their layout? I am looking for pros and cons on this method. I am also wondering if this lighting system can be used in small projects like vehicles?
Saw this system at York. Pricey but it does look interesting.
Good for an N scale layout (or smaller)

All I know about fiber optics is that Jack Pearce from Canada is an expert.
I heard him give an excellent presentation about using fiber optics for lights on O Scale vehicles and O Gauge passenger cars on a train guy Zoom.
He has also been a vendor at York.
He is a very smart, interesting and nice man.

Thanks to you that replied to this post. I was hoping to hear from those who had purchased the Dwarvin lighting system . Would have liked to share how to use the system with any thing that needs lighting. I have purchased 2 of the Lamplighter 2 kits and accessories. Have used in one industrial rail service scene and the other in a rail yard scene. I can say that I am very impressed with the ease in the instalation. The other benefit of the system is the cables under a layout light up the underside . Now I have a good light source when I crawl under to do any work. Trying to figure out how to build a yard light tower , have a faint idea. Also need to know how to hook up vehicles with lights. If there is some one that has done this please jump in. .
