I noticed that while all eight TOFC combinations offered in the original brochure were offered with scale wheels only the PFE set has been delivered with the scale wheels as well as hi-rail wheels. Maybe the rest are on the next boat. Those IC cars look mighty nice.

Well, I've got the pair of scale wheel IC's on order.

We'll see...

Speaking of the TOFC, does anyone know what the 2015 MTH Collectors Club car was for S-gauge? I'm thinking it was a TOFC but I don't recall. Whatever it was I never received it. The last club car I received was the one for 2014 (Duluth Missabe & Iron Range Ore Car). If it's a TOFC perhaps it will be on its way soon.

OK, I called MTH and in fact they shipped my car out yesterday, so I should have it by Monday.  They said the original shipment received only had about 20% of what they ordered, but the remainder have now been received, so everyone else who is still waiting on this car should get theirs soon.  Thanks for all the info!

I got my club car this Saturday as well. Its nice, but I have to admit I didn't look that closely to see that the trailer stand needs to be assembled. Are there separate loose parts in the box for that? I didn't notice any, but I wasn't looking for them so I may have missed them. I'll have to check tonight.

There were discussions on the Yahoo S-Scale board some years ago about the Railking trailers being S Scale or darn close to it to be good enuf.

I can see MTH saving a buck or two using something already in their tooling inventory rather than reworking (if needed) the SHS tooling to fit their process.

Found this thanks to our friend, Mr. Google:

FWIW: 45' trailers started coming into use in the US in mid 70's. So, seeing a 1950's paint scheme on a 45' trailer makes it a fantasy item. Don't know if that's important to one's scheme of things, but may be for some.

Personally, I would have preferred MTH use the old SHS trailers, but it's a brave new world.  Kinda falls under the heading of "it'll havta do..."

I really, really like the old SHS ones and have picked up several from the "bay" when they pop up (starved market IMO).

But I must give MTH kudos for not just re-issueing previous stuff only.  Although, I have to say that the SHS stuff goes quickly on the bay when someone does put it out there.   Yeah, I know that it is 1 item being grabbed by one of several people and MTH/Lionel needs to build many.  Still, I think it is a bit of an untapped market.  Build some based on demand/interest (57' reefers hint, hint) and some based on "build it and they will come" (57' reefers hint, hint).  Only way we will grow the scale.   Again just IMHO.

I was introduced to Natty Boh here as well. BTW, it's a pretty decent beer. The issue for future items would be securing permission to use the artwork. That is one thing I would not hold my breath for.

IF someone got permission to do this again, you could easily count on sell-out preorders. Probably within hours. Securing permission to use brand marketing artwork is easier said than done. I was humbled just trying to do a Scrapple car.

I know it's kinda off subject, but since we are talking semi trailers, just wanted to bring up road railers. I have been thinking of taking the 53' van trailers that DCP makes, and actually building a triple crown road railer set up. I see it in HO and seems like it would be fairly easy to do. Anyone else consider this as an option to a modern layout?
