Follow-up to my Dead Lionel Christmas morning set.....

I had posted about my Lionel 0-8-0 set was DOA on Christmas morning. Along with a dead transformer, my first, no whistle and a broken coupler on a car. As I said I grabbed a MTH transformer and used it with out much issue.

Today I got a replacement transformer via UPS. It works but I was worried as it was shipped in a flimsy box with out any padding etc. My only complaint to the otherwise good service is I asked that the ORIGINAL receipt I sent with it be returned....it wasn't......but Wholesale trains says they only honor warrantys for 10 days so I guess I don't really need it.

I have downloaded the instructions to fix the whistle if I ever get around to it....don't really like it so it may not get fixed....and a small drop of epoxy fixed the car coupler.

I did want to thank Lionel service for the replacement and good customer service.

Never send the original .scan it on your printer and send them a copy.
Whole sale trains may only give you 10 days but Lionel may give you a year just depends

I just sent back a Wabash FT--first time I have used Lionel warranty service. I noticed that in one place they asked for the original receipt, and in another, for the photocopy. Well, I had bought it online from Hobbyspeed, so sending the original receipt was out of the question! I printed out the Paypal info for the transaction and sent that, which Lionel accepted.
