Lionel GS2, Southern Pacific Daylight #4410, small lettering, 6-38079
I've upgraded this engine with GRJ's Super Chuffer and Optical Chuff Generator. It now has the correct 4 chuffs per revolution, and is programmable so you can change it to whatever you want. I also "Reaganized" (tuned up) the factory smoke unit and replaced the wick. It smokes at idle and will smoke you out of the room. The cab light is connected to the Super Chuffer so that it turns off once the engine begins moving, just like the Legacy engines. Slow speed starts?? Well it's not Legacy but if you set the MOMENTUM to MEDIUM, it will start and run pretty darn slow for TMCC control.
If you are looking for out of the box, untouched/modified engines this is NOT for you. I have modified it, including a Kadee coupler on the tender. There is no electro coupler, and there's no going back....at least I'm not going to change it back. I throw electro couplers in the trash bin The white wall tires and engine truck wheels were blacked out with black paint for an "in service" look. I enclosed both Fat Boy speakers in the tender for a deeper, richer sound. The tender marker lights have been unplugged. The tires are still good, and I will include an extra set of MTH tires for future replacements. This is really an awesome engine after the upgrades. I do have the orange box and manual.
