I wouldn't come anywhere near the place on Monday!!

It's MLK day so that means governments, banks, and SCHOOLS will be closed Monday. I can't imagine how packed it will be!

My brother and I went down the center to see the Rocky Mountain Train movie. We couldn't find a parking spot in any of the 4 lots until we drove around 2 or 3 times and found ONE!

It will be a real zoo I think.

The admission price is why I only go once or twice a year. If I had more leisure time to spend in the city, I would get the annual membership to the Carnegie Museum system which would allow for unlimited visits to the CSC as well as the other museums. This would, in effect, greatly reduce the admission price on a per-visit basis, provided you used the membership often enough.

Another option would be to volunteer to work at the CSC... Big Grin ...but I don't have time for that, either.

Ron: You are right that they will be less crowded, in fact there won’t be any one there at all because they are closed on days when the Steelers are playing an afternoon game at home. For those that don’t know the Carnegie Science Center is located right next to Heinz Field.

BTW, the Train Layout is also closed for about 2 months starting around mid-September each year for maintenance and upgrades.

Are they playing today?
While the trains are a popular attraction there, I wouldn't go as far as saying they are the "real draw" for the place (that is the case for most of us, but not the rest of the average visitor there). Every time I visit, even on train-themed weekends, you will find lots of families with kids there enjoying all of the exhibits and activities with as much, or in the case of the hands-on activities, even more enthusiasm than the trains.
