Here's Saturday's happy snaps!  Pardon the occasional redeye... 

When I saw this mountain yesterday, I said to myself, "Self, that mountain needs a trolley line".  And so it was that I built said line.

Mitch, you set the standard for running trains for kids at shows.  Well done!  You're a credit to the hobby and Northwest Arkansas is lucky to have you!

You're also a good friend to Dad.  You give him an excuse to get out of the house and you inspire him to keep playing with trains (don't tell him I told you that).  Keep up the fine work, sir!  I hope to meet you and thank you in person some day!

Hit it out of the park Mitch! Those bouncing Gi-raffe do attract a crowd. Amazing how that button draws the kids in too.

Hope you were able to coax Fortesque out of that old barn!

Very nice demonstration of trains.

But wait a minute.... IF it's a FRISCO Festival, Why am I only seeing Santa Fe units? Where's the Frisco rolling stock and or locomotives?

My Lionel "Frisco" switcher is out on loan to the Fort Smith Trolley Museum.  However, the HO and N scale layouts had Frisco covered!

The club does need more Frisco engines and cars for the clubs layouts.  We have Frisco engines for the "N" scale layout and Frisco boxcars for the "HO" layout.  But no equipment in Frisco colors for the clubs "O" gauge layout that could be used on Mitch's setup.  We were setup in the old Post Office building one block west of the A&M (ex BN, ex Frisco) Railroad mainline.  The last Frisco train pasted thru Rogers in the 1980's.  Most of the people that saw our setup of model trains would not know that Frisco was the name of the railroad that owned the tracks one block away.

At the end of day we are all tried BUT it's well worth our time and sweat to see the looks on the faces of all of the kids.
