Well hello everyone...its F.E.F. again, the end the first week of fall?  @3rail- Great Amtrak loco.  One question, when you say you posted a new video...where do you post it?  @tnkMarx- a beautiful B&O switcher, what make is that?  I see a Lionel pre-war tanker in the background.  @Sitka - a "KLINE" big boy, well that's neat, never knew that KLINE made such an engine...really neat. @GG1 4877 - "what a nose" your right who doesn't love that one!  @walt rapp - great pictures of your former layouts...love the "Heinz Pickle Car".

OK for me today, I am taking my inspiration from Fatman and his Hornby Silver Link.  In my case, its a Brimtoy, "Silver Streak" also from the time of the Silver Jubilee of King George V and Queen Mary, 1935.  Here from 1936 was the Brimtoy version of those famous celebratory trains in real life.

I do not have the full set as does Fatman nor do I even have the silver #2509 tender, but here is the "front end Friday" view of the locomotive.

Here are some side views , showing the name ..."Silver Streak"

Best wishes everyone.  Hope you have a great weekend

Don-

The S2 switcher is a Lionel.

The tank car in the background is actually Marx.

Strap, does your 4 train go underground just below Yankee Stadium like the real one in Da Bronx?

Not yet, Coach. However, construction of that route is set to begin after retirement. I’ve always wanted to connect my elevated and subway lines. In the meantime, that 4 train is strangely running around on a mysterious elevated line somewhere in Queens.

Happy F.E.F. everyone, great pictures all...back on 9/2 I posted that a train show in Austin,Tx had yielded a new switcher (SR  U36b) and I would post the front ends and then try to get her operating for SwSat.  Well surprisingly, the same thing has happened again, a train show in Plano, Tx happened last Saturday and a "new" switcher has arrived on the property.  Front end pictures today and maybe some operating videos tomorrow.  Thank goodness the "post COVID" world has arrived again and all our train shows are re-starting.

So its a "little guy", the Lionel #18912 Amtrak Industrial Switcher from 1993, the Richard Kughn era.  DC can motor with a rectifier to run on AC plus electronic reverse and headlight, its fairly sophisticated for its era and size and I found it basically NIB.  So here is my new Amtrak Industrial Switcher.

Here is the F.E.F. view with her exiting my "yard".

Here is a front quarter view with her handling an Amtrak express/baggage car and hooking it up to the passenger train waiting to get underway north on the Leonardtown and Savannah.

Best Wishes for a Friday and hope you have a great weekend.

That early "orangy" paint scheme is really growing on me.  Perhaps there will be enough interest in a second run?  Just what I need!

Perhaps “do-able” (???) in conjunction with the fairly new offering of the SF Super Chief ??? Perhaps at that time Scott might even offer some single “A” units. I Really wanted to have him to also offer the Little known Alton / GM&O EA. (B&O “sold” one to their sub The Alton which ended up merged with GM&O). There was only One “A” unit. Perhaps this elusive gem can be added to a second run. 🤔
