TedW, That was an enjoyable array of front-ends you posted for us. The contrasts are amazing, giving us a good representation of how the world and the world of trains has changed in even just these few decades.
Thanks!

Eggcellent, Brian! Rock Island livery and ditch-lights.
Ima find the story on that. Hmmm. IANR reporting marks.
Whatever would we do without the wiki-thingy? Iowa Northern is on old Rock Island alignment.

And this is the boiler of # 39 today. It's at Strasburg patiently waiting for funds to continue with the restoration.
Had I been blessed with lots of $$, like being a sports star or something, I often think things like this would be where I would flush all that money or at least some of it. This and a lot of very old race cars.....

Dennis,
Sadly (for you and Dave), I suspect that you, me and Dave are somehow related.

Shrimp scampi, boiled shrimp, fried shrimp, shrimp kabobs....
Not sure what's up with the shrimp menu, they are all great, but if you are buying, I prefer Shrimp Oreganata (lots of breadcrumbs and garlic).

Yes- on the main line. This train is just leaving the main over Willis Ave and heading north. I'm on 2nd St which is not being eliminated. It's one of the more complex areas of the project since it's right were the Oyster Branch hits the main line.
Here's a link to what the new roads will look like.

Thanks for the info, Bob. I knew I had read something about the LIRR eliminating grade crossings. Although I love trains, I’m glad that I’m not on LI... crossing gates are in the down position between 43 and 50 percent of the time!!!

Brian, the third UP photo from about an hour ago looks like the rail ferry from the lower 48 to Alaska being loaded behind that engine.

Great pics, as always, Randy. I also enjoy the Jersey Central (I still have my brother’s first Lionel engine - a NJC diesel switcher). I particularly find the F7 pic interesting... I’ve never seen that paint scheme before. Thanks for sharing.
