TedW, That was an enjoyable array of front-ends you posted for us. The contrasts are amazing, giving us a good representation of how the world and the world of trains has changed in even just these few decades.
Thanks!

Eggcellent, Brian! Rock Island livery and ditch-lights.
Ima find the story on that. Hmmm. IANR reporting marks.
Whatever would we do without the wiki-thingy? Iowa Northern is on old Rock Island alignment.

Shrimp scampi, boiled shrimp, fried shrimp, shrimp kabobs....
Not sure what's up with the shrimp menu, they are all great, but if you are buying, I prefer Shrimp Oreganata (lots of breadcrumbs and garlic).

Yes- on the main line. This train is just leaving the main over Willis Ave and heading north. I'm on 2nd St which is not being eliminated. It's one of the more complex areas of the project since it's right were the Oyster Branch hits the main line.
Here's a link to what the new roads will look like.

Thanks for the info, Bob. I knew I had read something about the LIRR eliminating grade crossings. Although I love trains, I’m glad that I’m not on LI... crossing gates are in the down position between 43 and 50 percent of the time!!!

Great pics, as always, Randy. I also enjoy the Jersey Central (I still have my brother’s first Lionel engine - a NJC diesel switcher). I particularly find the F7 pic interesting... I’ve never seen that paint scheme before. Thanks for sharing.

You’re reading them wrong. They are campaign stars denoting different operations during my time in VN(68-69). Navy Corpsman HM2(E5) The Marine Corps insignia in the middle of the ribbon signifies I served with the Marines even though Navy enlisted. Compared to others I served with, I was hardly “the man”.

Quarter Gauger 48 - thanks so much! The Williams by Bachman Hudson runs like a clock .... very smooth and a great puller! Nice LED headlight too. Of course it's lite on smoke, as most WbB and Williams locos are. Of course I knew about the lack of smoke before I bought it.... so no disappointment there. I bought mine new from a OGR Forum sponsor.
If its FEF it must be Friday!

Nice collection, Bob. The black PC is my least favorite GG1 paint scheme (excluding the bicentennial nightmare and the occasional pink/razorback red/light blue desecration), but there is still something very pleasing about the lines of the engine that always stand out. Don’t remember ever seeing the red/white PC before... it makes the black a bit more palatable!!!

Got it, The black and gold on the steamer are colors of the Monon, as well as the red and gray. So I assumed it was a Monon'... Either way it is a beauty'...

Larry;
You are very kind... my train room can not compare to yours. You have so much of interest going on in the pics you post... this is one of my favorites (love the overhead bridge):
As for my a,b,c pics... unfortunately, no Legacy engines in the group. The Jersey Centrals (A & B) are Atlas with TMCC, and the NH is an old Lionel TMCC engine.
