Ahhhh... Santa πŸŽ…πŸ» πŸŽ…πŸ» Fe Warbonnet. Another of my Favorites. Need any Menards Santa Fe box trucks??? I ended up with a bunch of them a couple of years ago πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Tempting but I'll pass for now Paul. I bought this car to get the free REA lighted stake body truck. Still waiting for it to arrive. The SF flat car looks sharp, I hope the truck is too.

Good afternoon, todays photo is of two Pennsy M1A sitting at the water spout on a cold December morning.

The cardinal up in the tree is singing its winter song.

Soon the cardinal will fly off due to the thunderous14646C0E-8C65-45F3-85A2-F325E4211CF8  chuffs of steam and ash as M1 6715 starts its heavy train of loaded coal hoppers.

Have a nice weekend

Merry Christmas !!!!

If you don't mind, here is a "Saturday" morning entry to FEF.  I'm riding the rails today for relaxation and took these photos of the southbound Tri-Rail at Pompano Beach.

"wish I were there"..... Id rather enjoy a ride with a friend from the forum. I have a friend in Portland, Oregon who said the train goes up to Seattle and back quite often. Since he has commuted for years on that line, his eyes miss all the cool stuff I would enjoy. Airport is close... fares are reasonable...

"I'll buy the hot chocolate".

thanks for the share

Thank you for your thoughts Miggy.

I'm just enjoying a nice and chilly (for us at 45 degrees LOL) Saturday morning. I'm traveling solo though, no friends.

I'm riding Tri-Rail to Miami Airport, then connect to the Metrorail and taking that to the southernmost stop (Dadeland South). Then repeat the procedure in the opposite direction up to West Palm Beach and have lunch with my bride of 22 years.

Nice way to spend a Saturday morning.

WOW great pictures everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR !  Lets hope 2021 is better than 2020 (won't be too hard - LOL)  Wife and I have transitioned to the east coast, Georgia, to visit family for the month of January - big risk travel with COVID but we decided to take it.  Impact to me is that I am now posting some "archive" photos that I took before we left home in Texas.

This Friday, I noticed quite a mixture. SLQ32 the ornaments look great, I have not seen them photographed like that before, good job!  So my post today is in celebration of another "fallen flag" the Rock Island taken from a time when it was healthy and strong.  It is the Marx E7 interpretation of Rock Island livery.  The ABA units date from as early as '58.  The A units were available quite late, till '74 but the B unit stopped production in '61.

Here they are in classic F.E.F pose. Getting ready to leave the depot in downtown Savannah (on my fictional RR) don't have any idea what the RI would be doing in eastern Georgia but hey its all in fun!

Marx RI E7 ABA front

Here is side view showing the full length of the ABA units.  Like Lionel, only the first A unit is powered the other A and the B are dummies.

Marx RI E7 ABA side view

Of course its hard to tell front from back, but here is the rear unit just as its pulling past the depot.

Marx RI E7 ABA rear view

Just want to wish everyone the very best for the new year

Don
