It’s the Spring of 1951 and Mickey Mantle arrives at Yankee Stadium on this train:

The above is poetic license. Mickey would have arrived on a bus. Only train he could take to the Stadium would be a subway.

Later on, after he won the Triple Crown in 1956, he could come in a stretch limo.

So, what train would Mickey Mantle take in 1951 from Oklahoma to New York to begin his rookie season?

Could it have been the Broadway Limited arriving at Penn Station?

If so, may be that train was led by this engine, almost as powerful and fast as Mickey:

Frank, what comes to mind when I see your trains and scenery are superlatives: stunning, beautiful, perfection, master model railroader, etc.

If O Gauge scenery was taught in college, you would be the professor.

I also love the colors: brown tan , yellow, gray, in the above photos.

Your eye for color is comparable to that of a great artist. I don’t know if you’ve scene Phil Klopp’s magnificent layout at his home in Easton, Pennsylvania. Phil, like you, has a great eye for color. There are a few others that post on this Forum that have that gift as well.

In fact, it occurs to me that the colors in these photos remind me of Rembrandt. My knowledge of art is next to nil, but I do appreciate the great Impressionists like Monet, Manet, Renoir (my favorite), and Rembrandt.

Hi Arnold, What you have said both times is so nice of you, I cannot put into words how nice it feels seeing that written about my layout play. Thank you, very much.

And my Thanks, also, to these voices who sent meLikes, back in December, when I posted some Frontend Friday Photos then: RSJB18; gandydancer1950; Jackiejr; PRRronbh; Suzukovich; trumptrain; Hamlet Depot; briansilvermustang; Boo Man.

My sincere Thanks to all of you.

FrankM

P.S. And kindly excuse the repetition of any of these angles if you've seen them previously.

Your corner of the world, Patrick, is one of glorious colors. Love that B&O Diesel in your 1st photo.

I’m finding smoking diesels to be irresistible; I want them all. LOL

Beautiful. I would love to join your train club if I lived closer to it.
