And this is the boiler of # 39 today. It's at Strasburg patiently waiting for funds to continue with the restoration.

Had I been blessed with lots of $$, like being a sports star or something, I often think things like this would be where I would flush all that money or at least some of it.  This and a lot of very old race cars.....

Dennis,

Sadly (for you and Dave), I suspect that you, me and Dave are somehow related.

Dave, Tom, Dennis- count me in! Now I just gotta hit the lottery

Caught this train heading to Oyster Bay the other day.

Bob

Isn’t the LIRR doing away with all their grade-level crossings???

Yes- on the main line. This train is just leaving the main over Willis Ave and heading north. I'm on 2nd St which is not being eliminated. It's one of the more complex areas of the project since it's right were the Oyster Branch hits the main line.

Here's a link to what the new roads will look like.

Thanks for the info, Bob. I knew I had read something about the LIRR eliminating grade crossings. Although I love trains, I’m glad that I’m not on LI... crossing gates are in the down position between 43 and 50 percent of the time!!!
