Front headlight on brand new AK F7 A Unit stopped working (Lionel 2033240 Alaska RR F7 AA )

This is the reset code sheet I have been trying to use on the new Alaska F7.  I got this list from another forum member.

Try pressing AUX 2.  You may have to take the trailing A off to sync them up if that turns it back on.

The only reset on the new Legacy engines is re-assigning it an ID. (Page 40 of the manual)

Thanks Marty, I have tried "Aux 1 then pressing 2" and I did it only with the front unit on the track.  Yeah, I see that the manual says it should only take pressing the engine assigned # and then set (with the engine switch set on program), but that has no effect at all.  David

With the engine in normal operation mode.  Press AUX 2.  See if it lights.

Marty, thanks for the idea to press Aux2 in regular operating mode.  Pressing Aux 2 made the engine start running in superslow forward motion.  It also caused the interior cab lights to come on.  It also gave me a "screen" on the legacy controller I had never seen before, with button icons, some of which I had never seen before.  However, the front headlight did not come on.  I wish I had videoed what happened so I could send it to you. But the new screen that came up on Aux 2 disappeared after two cycles.

Any other ideas to get the front headlight working?  I really appreciate your help so far.  David

Pushing and holding AUX2 brings up the lighting menu.  Not sure why all the other stuff happened.  Tapping AUX2 turns on and off the headlight normally.
