Have several of these Lionel 9700/6464 Boxcar shells as shown. While numbered 9700, they're actually a hybrid of 6464 and 9700 features. Basically it's a 6464 with double metal door guides but it doesn't have the molded-in rows of rivets on the side.

If you plan on repainting these, the lack of rivets will help when it comes time to re-letter them. Lionel's standard 6464/9700 metal boxcar frame is the one that can be used with these. Those frames measure approximately 9.25", and have a screw hole at one end and two tabs at the other.

Each shell is 100% complete with the body, two doors, four metal door guides, eight door guide pins and a metal brakewheel. They're worth it just for the parts! These were originally used as sound cars, so the doors have foam strips inside to keep them closed, but they're easily removable.

Condition is Excellent to Like New, usually with just a hint of shopwear.

Price is $8 each plus shipping, and I have several.

PayPal, check or money order accepted. E-mail me at papertrw@aol.com with your interest. Thanks for looking!
