Have for sale several surplus Lionel RailSounds 3 and 4 boards as described below.
In general, RailSounds 3 was the first modular RailSounds, and was used from 1998-1999, and then sporadically in 2000 and 2001. RailSounds 4 came along in 1999, and was used through the mid-2000's in Lionel as well as some K-Line, Weaver, Atlas and Sunset/Third Rail. While they're functionally equivalent, the boards are NOT interchangeable -- a RailSounds 3 Power Board must always be paired with a RailSounds 3 Audio Board, and a RS4 Power must go with a RS4 Audio. (Sorry but I don't have any RailSounds 4 Power Boards to offer with the matching Audio Board below.)
Lionel's sound chips between RailSounds 2.5 and 4.0 ARE fully interchangeable with these boards. RailSounds 5.0 and 5.5 chips do NOT work with these boards.
The boards are New/Old Stock, and have been tested for all functions. Add a flat $5 for shipping.
PayPal, check and money order accepted. E-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org with your interest. Thanks!
3. RailSounds 4.0 Audio Board as shown below. The number on this board is 691-PCB1-04C. Note that many of these boards (including these) are marked "RS3" when in reality they are RS4. No chips are included, but see #4 below for a potential option. $25 each
4. Matching chip set which was originally used with the 6-18959 New York Central NW-2 Switcher #622 from 1998. Can be used in either of the RailSounds 3 or 4 Audio Boards sold above. Note that the TowerCom only mentions the road number (622) but not the road name. If operated in conventional mode, CrewTalk, TowerCom and coupler sounds will not be accessible. $10 per chipset pair when added to one of the above boards.
