But, as my wife quickly pointed out, what's missing is that unforgettable voice over the York-wide PA system every few minutes reminding everyone of "The Rules".......not that it was any more effective in achieving its goal, mind you.
I recall a forum limerick verse that referenced this bit of Yorkery...
She picked up the mike and opined,

I can hear the frequent announcement now: "Folla the yella arras on the floor"

This after queuing up behind a line of crop dusters. Took 15 minutes to determine the Not In Stock status ("NIS" was a standard term and frequently used for critical parts while I was on active duty).

My bank has arrows on the floor, too, and a uniformed ossifer to enforce them and an assured, clear, distance.
York needs taser-packin' ossifers to enforce the arrows and to clear the family gatherings out of aisle junctions.

The aisles were so full at York, I couldn’t see the arrows. So, then I was left to wonder whether I was going the wrong way or it was everybody else.
That grocery store picture looks like York when they’re playing “God Bless the USA” by Lee Greenwood. Everyone must still be outside.

Based on my trips to York, it's less about the number of lanes than it is about the size and condition of the vehicles.
I firmly believe someone will issue some kind of boxcar commemorating the loss of April 2020 York. It will be limited edition and bought up by all the dealers before the halls open in October.
