Dear Folks:

It's been a long, tough road for this project. Almost 3 years waiting, as the factory that was making these was forced to shut down and relocate. Now production is in the final stretch. The Factory is nearly finished, and I will run out there to inspect them before we schedule the container on February 27th.

We have posted pictures of the PRE-PRODUCTION samples. These were their first shot at each road painting and lettering, so much has been tightened up since these pictures were taken. But we wanted to show you the progress, so they are posted on our web site at:

This production starts with the PRR P70-FAR coach, which is a modernized version of the P70 Coaches. They have round roofs, with a hatch on the roof at one end, wide picture frame windows, now having flush mounted moulded windows in our production. To get the door height and width more accurate to scale, we have them fixed, not opening. There are 6 Little People installed in each car. The interior is not a moulded hunk of plastic, but separately applied chairs, with LED lighting overhead.

I made sure we would have extra PRR P70FAR Coaches available, so you can still reserve a set 4 for $599.95 MSRP.

We used the P70-FAR Design as a base to produce the various road production we called, Modernized Heavy Weight Coaches. These cars have Pullman style HW Trucks, straight steps and roofs without hatches. Pictures of the first samples are also posted on this web site.

Although our reservations for these are full, we expect many customer orders have been lost due to the long delay. So we welcome you to order a set in your favorite road if you so desire. We will fill these orders on a first come first serve bases when the cars arrive on March 25th. And if enough interest is there, we will rerun the road names receiving sufficient reservations.

We thank our loyal customers that have stuck with us through this long wait.

We can now revisit some of our favorite plastic productions such as the 12-1 and 8-1-2 Sleepers, HW Observation and Diners, even our Plastic model of the Wooden Coaling tower. Get ready for these to be announced in the coming months for a late 2015 delivery.

Cheers,

Scott Mann

I will be inspecting these after the Spring Festival vacation in China. March 4th and 5th.

I read that our Labor Secretary is pushing the Long Shoreman's Union and the Ports to sit down and finish their negotiation, so we hope the container delays will be gone by the time these models arrive.

Thank you all for your patience and support of these projects.

They look great. How about a non-modernized set for those great CNW H1 Northerns you did back in 2013?

Was the older livery green? You might buy, say, a GGD C&O set, remove the lettering and re-letter for CNW. What trucks did the heavyweight cars run on?

Or, buy whatever set and strip and repaint into the two-tone yellow/green livery. I did note some rebuilt heavyweights with the redone windows....

Or: Buy a bunch of the old Walthers kits and have at it!

What do your CNW reference books show?
