I doubt at this point I will be renewing my GSC membership in December.  I guess I could say that I already have more filled boxes of train equipment than I will ever be able to use on my layout.  Or my being of advanced age and being happy where I am,  Or my exasperation with Atlas trying to obtain Atlas track for my expansion this year or just the fact this car has taken so long.  I guess I will need to live another one to two years just to receive my 2020 Car.

I just received my 2020 GSC membership card in the mail today, only 6 months into the year. 😆

I’ve been a GSC member for only 4 years but at this rate it’s highly unlikely that there will be a 5th year in my future. If a simple club car can’t be delivered on time then I don’t see the point in renewing. Locomotive production has ceased and rolling stock that in some cases is years past due is enough reason for me to call it quits with the GSC.

Luckily, I’ve accumulated a lot of Atlas products over the years to be set for a long time.

Apparently, the membership cards were assigned to a shipping container finally.  Did not even think of it and then received mine in the mail today also.  How bizarre is this sequence of events?

The container ship sailed from China on July 14. Too soon to arrive for stateside distribution, check the Atlas website for when the 36' reefers arrive here.

Yeah, I did look at the schedule on the Atlas website.  But does a freighter really take a month to go from China to Long Beach and then I would imagine to TOFC to the East Coast?  I was surprised when I looked that there was no date in the last column still.  I guess I am getting anxious.

Jim, this hobby requires patience.

I have nothing but patience.  If nothing else proves this, the 2019 GSC car should be proof of my Patience.  Since this is the 2019 car, I probably sent my renewal notice in Oct/Nov of 2018.  Now I am wondering what I will see next.  My 2021 renewal request from Atlas or the 2019 Car.  I fear the Renewal Request at this rate.

Spoke to ATLAS last week, still June, maybe. They will arrive with the rest of the 36' reefers, so you can check the ATLAS shipping schedule and you will be able to see when the 36' reefers leave China and then when ATLAS ships to customers.

I just got an email from MR. Muffin implying that he just received a shipment of 36' Reefers.  I quickly went to the Atlas website to check the status hoping an update beyond container assignment.  No Joy.  This is incredible.  Two months on the ocean?

Mine finally arrived. Interesting I have an app for USPS that tracks packages. I got informed that I was to receive a package from Piney-Bowes. Having not ordered anything from PB, I was bewildered. I wondered if it could be the GSC Car since it was mailed from NJ. So when I went to the mailbox thinking I should be getting something from PB, nothing was in the box from PB. I stopped the mailman on his return trip and asked him about a package from PB and he stated he had no packages for my street. Huh? I went back in the house checked the app and it stated the PB package was delivered. My wife then stated that the mailman had placed a package on the porch via our camera.  Huh? Went to the door and there was my package from Atlas. This whole scenario was very weird from the length of shipping to the actual delivery

P. S. Earlier today I was checking orders I have with Atlas on their website of which is the 2020 GSC car. It stated scheduled delivery was third Qtr of 2020. It being Oct 2020, here we go again.

Ya gotta laugh!
