On April 1st 2020, the City of Cincinnati, Ohio shut down the Connector Streetcar as no one was riding it due to the Virus.  On November 1, 2020, the Cincinnati Bell Connector Streetcar resumed operation and this time, all rides are free.

Our Western Hills Viaduct will  be shut down in the very near future for a complete rebuilding.  This is a double deck viaduct that carries automobiles and buses to the West Side.  The Western Hills Viaduct was part of the project for the Cincinnati Union Terminal.  Both the Viaduct and Union Terminal were built and finished in the 1930's,   The Viaduct back in the 30's carried 4 streetcar lines  on the lower span.  Streetcars stopped operating on the Viaduct back in April 29th 1951 when the Cincinnati Street Railway stopped operating Streetcars.  Now, the lower span of the new viaduct will have streetcar and light rail tracks on it in the rebuilding.

Also, there is talk about building a light-rail line to the Greater Cincinnati International Airport in Boone County Kentucky from the Cincinnati Union Terminal .  There is rumor that the City of Cincinnati will reactivate the old Pennsylvania Rail Line which they bought for 1 million dollars around 25 years ago.  It heads East and could be an Eastern Light Rail for the City of Cincinnati.

Another project that still is in the planning stages, is a streetcar line in both Newport and Covington, Kentucky which will come across the Ohio River and join up with the Cincinnati Bell Connector Streetcar.
