Just wondereing if anyone had a good reference on how to pack O gage trains.   I want to start linking instructions to everything I buy.

I had a train smashed with a novice shipper a few years ago, could have used them then.   But today was crazy.   A well known in the industry, that normally packs things well just sent me a very poorly packed set.  A single wrap of thin bubble wrap on each item, not even tape.  No end protection and  loosely packed.  When I got it, the outside of the box looked good.  No abuse by the shipper. I picked it up and it rattled.   Most know the story from there.

I have been looking for months for this set and it was turned into trash by someone careless or just ignorant in their job.

Do I need to attach a note when I do a purchase?  "If you do not know how to handle and pack train items to assure no damage is done durning shipping, DO NOT TOUCH MY ORDER".

No, you don't need to attach a note.  The problem isn't going to be solved by you giving someone a hard time, or even a gentle reminder.  In the end it's clear that the seller could care less about your order.

Instead just don't order at all.   You'll have nothing to worry about and the correct message will be sent.

By 'shipper' are you referring to the carrier?

If you hear noises from a package, it might be prudent to take photographs of the package as received, then when opened and of each item individually.  Contact the shipper(who sold and packaged your purchase) and share the photographs. John
