Spectacular!  I've been a student of the railroad milk traffic for many years, especially on the DL&W. The car looks great.  One of my kit bashing projects is to use the Atlas ice house and an MTH brewery to build a creamery.  I have a dozen milk cars of various designs including a brass Bordens tank cars sans enclosure. I run 3 rail so I thought about installing three rail trucks of some kind, perhaps from a enclosed tank car. I'm not sure that I want to do that, perhaps just parking the car at the creamery.  Keep us informed with your project.   Thanks.

One of my prototype interests is the DL&W railroad. Some may recall my post from a few years back (Got Milk?) about their converted steel milk boxcars.

A number of years ago I befriended Ben Brown. Who produced exquisite resin models of various road’s milk cars. I was fortunate to purchase his remaining parts stock of the DLW 42’ wood cars.

These cars, of the 1700 series, were built by Osgood-Bradley.

Well finally I’ve gotten around to start putting these cars together. The detail in the castings is spectacular. Here are a couple early pix with trucks mounted. So I can gauge the end detail needs.

I’ll add more as progress permits.

Marty, I did ask Ben if he’d consider selling the molds. At the time he said they were somewhere still packed from his move south. Since I was getting a significant number of bodies and parts. I didn’t pursue it further.

Interesting fact is a number of these cars went to the Rutland.

In fact, I have surplus to my needs now.
