Have a Lionel Grade with flashers(6-12052)and it is starting to act up.It has worked great for past many months, no changes have benn made, track is clean. It is erratic and seems to short out. I have checked all connections and wires seem fine.Does anyone have any ideas or is it toast.Appreciate.Al B

Perhaps 'shorting' out was not a good explanation.Should have been no electrical current once car passes grade section. This version does not have gates, only flashers.I have a set with gates and flashers and it is working well.I resoldered the connections as recommended and restored operation when a car triggers the signal via the activation section of track.NOW, After the car passes the grade, the flashers stop as per normal operation , however power is no longer available after this point. I checked all pins, cleaned all track, resoldered the two main connectors underneath with refreshed wire ends, replaced the trigger sections with new sections , ensurred I didnt switch wires, and disassembled the guts and carefully reassembled and tested to no avail.Triggered flashing operation is back but of no use mid track.Think I will forget it and move to Z Stuff set up.

Just to be certain, double check that both the insulated outside rail sections (with the breaks) are on the same side and also on the same side as the on/off switch down in the roadbed.

If that doesn't work, I remember having a smashed/frayed wire under my unit. Since yours worked for a while then maybe the same thing. Found it by removing the bottom panel and inspecting some of the traversing wires.
