Little update since other Nick only does the videos, we are in the process of raising money for our first major hurdle, repairing 4070's frame. Long story short: don't drop your locomotives in turntable pits. We've known this was coming but we've recently firmed up the scope of the work to be done, and are gathering supplies and funds to accomplish this first step.  We've even gotten a donation of the welding rod needed from Lincoln Electric.

For a limited time, donations to the 4070 are automatically doubled thanks to a new dollar-for-dollar matching campaign by a coalition of volunteers! All of the details on this program and other work on Cleveland's locomotive can be found in the latest video update. Among the many highlights are:

- Continued ultrasound survey of the firebox and boiler

- Consultation with FRA regarding proper ultrasound documentation

- Mechanical lubricator disassembled, cleaned and inspected

- Final budget and procedure assembled for weld repair of the frame crack

- Donated Lincoln Electric plasma table churns out new components

- Roundhouse machine shop brought to life, volunteer training courses ongoing

- April 2023 Open House breaks post-COVID attendance records

Other Nick has been busy with 2100 and his own projects so we have a new volunteer (Zach) heading up Youtube content.
We've been working to raise some funds for the frame repair, but in the meantime, there's been some smaller jobs that needed done, like removing the broken bolts from the cylinders.

Also sorry for the vertical video, but that's the only thing allowed by the Youtube shorts.  Go complain to Google.
