Would appreciate recommendations on a "grease tube dispenser" as referenced in the MTH steam engine operating instructions. I generally create a mess when trying to squeeze grease into the small screw holes for the axles and I am not sure that I am applying the recommended 1-2ml.

A fine tipped syringe, or if your fleet is big, a small pin greaser loaded with your favorite grease works fine....as far as dispensing an accurate amount, I wouldn’t get all overworked about that....give a shot to each non geared axle, and and two or three shots to the gear well....

Tom, do all MTH steam engines have "small screw holes for the axles" that need grease? Anyone have a picture?

Paul - I believe so. You can find/download operating instructions from the mthtrains.com website by searching for the train item number and then selecting "support" which will give you access to the operating instructions. I have attached two pages from the operating instructions for the engine that I was inquiring about which shows the location of the 4 screws for 4 axles ( poor image but you will get the idea). Tom
Pick up a Monojet syringe from a pharmacy or someplace. Pack it with the grease of your choice. The end fits perfectly into the grease holes on MTH and Lionel steam locomotives.

Double checked what I have and they are Monojet 412 syringes, if anyone finds this in the future.
