Greenberg's New Guide To Lionel Trains: O Gauge, Volume 1

Bruce Greenberg's new guide :  " Greenberg's Guide to Lionel O Gauge Vol 1, 1915-1928  is the best resource I could ask for to better understand the old Lionel trains I have, as well as guide me in relation to future purchases. I wish I had it years ago.  Some examples of its utility:  1. I avoided an auction for a Lionel 700 advertised 1915-1916 with a Manufacturing plate and what turned out to be a 1918 motor (I asked for a picture of the motor).    2. I avoided an auction for a Lionel 701 with a USA -Lionel Corporation plate.   3. I was able to properly date all my 8 wheel early cars , even the 820 with Lionel Lines on the end, and Lionel Corporation below  - #820 (H) . It was pictured on page 331 of the Guide.   And sadly I realized that decades ago I missed an 820 with a dark roof (1915), not properly understanding its age at the time.  As you can see from my examples Greenberg's Guide is really crucial in understanding what you have, and guiding future purchases. The level of detail is absolutely extraordinary. The pictures are stunning !!  While Greenberg's Guide's price ticket is higher than many guides,  if you collect Lionel Early Lionel Prewar, how can you not have this Guide ??  

I have the new standard gauge guide they recently produced and it is the GOLD standard! (Sorry about the pun!) The amount of research that went into both volumes is unprecedented, resulting in the most accurate information to date. BRAVO, Bruce and company!

The next Volume for O Gauge will be just as good, if not even better...stay tuned!
