Has anyone received the new MTH SP Heavyweights from the 2018 Volume 2 Catalog? I saw on MTH's website that they're starting to arrive at dealers across the country. I'm excited to see how they turn out.

Dealers, even?
Hopefully not white stripes?

Either way, they'll still look beautiful. I'm looking to get the RPO car for my Daylight train.

They might. Passed on the Lionel Legacy Daylight ALCO PA's because of white stripes and lettering. The white stuck out when coupled to the consist with its silver/gray stripes and lettering.

Actually the RPO's in Daylight colors were Harriman cars. Lionel's remake of the Weaver RPOs would be closer. Pretty much the only monitor roof cars in Daylight colors were baggage cars, postal storage cars and a few diners. The rest pictured above are fantasy cars. Here is page that lists the heavyweight cars in Daylight colors.

Just for reference, not trying to hijack the thread. Weaver by Lionel RPO and next to a Lionel 18" Aluminum car.
For the record, SP Harriman RPOs were different than this.
Pete
Just opened the SP Daylight RPO car, Stripes appear to be a Grey/Silver more "Grey" than silver in my opinion . The stripping seems crisp and is more like pin-stripping (not oversized like the catalogue depiction). Inaccuracy of the Proto-typical car aside, nicely done. Will look good and should match the MTH Daylight engines.

Much better than white.

Do to tooling costs we can live with the different body style if at least the colors are accurate, which is much, much better than having a completely accurate model painted in the wrong colors.
Or the RPO car could be heavily based off of this model:

Perhaps photos of the MTH model will help.

Could we see pictures of it?

Thank you for the update, I'll be sure to check back here soon.
Are you sure? I think SP had postal cars in various configurations, including a cute little 40 foot car. Not really sure which got Daylight colors, but I bet not all were photographed in all paint schemes.
If you really want scale, try the Sunset cars. Precision Scale were the most accurate, but no paint, interior, or lights, and still $300 each!

Sounds expensive.

Not really when compared to the custom runs in the two rail scale world.
Plus the RPO car could represent this too:
PNWC 76
I just saw some starting to appear on eBay.
I just ordered mine and have yet to show pictures when it arrives.
