Back in the early 90's I worked as an art installer and helped deinstall the Chris Burden "Medusa Head". This was a big planet shaped ball hanging from the ceiling and covered with model trains/track. Mostly HO and some N scale Marklin. Don't remember any O gauge on it... At the time Burden tried to get it written up in Model Railroader magazine but they turned him down because the trains were only on static display and did not run.

I think the Metropolis 2 is better. Action really helps.

He did a bunch of erector set bridges too but I think they fell a little short of the mark... No trains or cars running through them really made them feel static and boring.

Oh, and you gotta realize that Chris Burden himself probably never touched anything. It is all built by assistants. He just comes up with the ideas and collects the money...
