Just bought a new MTH Alco RS-1 (30-20384-1) and has been running perfectly until 2 days ago when front headlight stopped working. The rear headlight works normally when I put loco in reverse.  When running in reverse, the headlight on-off switch in the DCS app will turn the rear headlight on and off normally. All other functions, sounds, and lights (number board) are normal. Odometer 21 scale miles  Chronometer 6 hours

Other locos on layout have normal headlight functioning.

I did a feature reset and that did nothing.  I didn't do a factory reset; anyone think that I should have?

How common is this for a bulb to go out in a new loco?  Is this a difficult repair, a difficult bulb change that ought to be done only by a certified repair person? Or is it something that a neophyte could do?  Thanks for any advice.

The shell comes off by removing a few screws. Make sure you have a quality screwdriver for this. I have a few RS1's and these screws can be in there pretty tight. Once the screws are removed. You have to slide the handrails out of the cab. The worst is over. The shell should wiggle right off. No wires attached. The headlights mount on posts secured to the chassis. It's unusual for a bulb to go on a new loco. Especially an LED. Trace the wires and make sure everything is plugged and seated. If nothing looks wrong. You can unplug the wire leads and switch them out to see if that's your problem. The bulbs I believe are hold onto the post with a grommet. They should just lift off the slot on the post.
