Help me identify this model station.

Looks like a Noma station from the 1950s.

Yes, it's the Noma talking station. It's missing the posts on one side and the record player underneath.

Wow,  that was fast,  thanks !  Today was the first time I've ever seen one. 

They were in stores, and were frequently in train shows during that boom...l think somebody was repairing or replacing the record player?  

The record player is the hardest part to find in working condition. That and the records themselves.

I see the posts for sale and decal sets too, but no players.

I have one that is similar, no player either.

I don't think they all had sound systems.

Thinking that I have seen ads for silent ones at reduced prices. The sound system was the most expensive part of the whole thing.

Contact Jeff Kane at the Train Tender.  Awesome guy- he has repro clocks and Noma Station sign inserts for your station.  I didn't know what I had either and Jeff identified the Noma Station and provided me with some advice.

An update on my Noma station.

A big thanks to Jeff at The Train Tender,  I ordered the replacement window and clock inserts Friday afternoon and they arrived today.   The windows are green with silver foil back ground and self adhesive backing.  

I didn't use them all so if anyone needs just a couple,  I'll be glad to share.                                                          These are the leftovers.

The Noma station was a popular under the tree layout addition in the 1950's. It really added another dimension to a simple circular layout. The player consisted of a vinyl record, a battery operated motor, belt, turntable and stylus with a mechanical speaker. The rotating mechanism was cheaply made of, you guessed it Zinc, and when these were stored in damp basements or attics for the next holiday season the zinc had a tendency to deteriorate. The parts would distort making the record not playable. I had this station and when the sound unit broke I tossed it away. Still wish that I had it. The electronic sound board replacement that they sell today is supposed to closely mimic the original station sounds.

I have one that I converted to the electronic sound module. I kept the original player just to have.
