My new (to me) JLC Big Boy (6-11126) is missing the stanchions that would be used to attach a handrail across the back lower bulkhead and just above the coupler. I do have the rail for it, but nothing to attach it to. This one was sold to me as "new in the box" bot looking at the drive wheels and the center rail pickups, she was a runner. The outer shipping box was simply re-sealed with factory-type paper tape. The JLC box itself came apart at the glued seam and needs to be repaired. The bell and the UP plate from the front of the engine were inside the accessory bags, along with the rail.

What glue should I use to reattach them, and where can I find those pesky stanchions and a picture or two of how it should be attached?

Thanks in advance for the help. I hope someday I can return the favor.

John 4884, I just don’t get it. You obviously bought an item that was miss labeled or purposely mislead you as to it’s content. Why not return it and move on. Sounds like you received someone else’s problem.

For the priced I paid, it is still much less than anything close to this. It runs well and is otherwise in great shape. It shows almost new in every respect and once the minor repairs are done, nobody would ever know. If you combine that with the priceless smile of my son today as he watched it run and do all the things a Big Boy can do, it is worth every single penny and then some.
