Did the 124 "Waiting Room" Station come with lights AND without lights? Or, was the non-lit version called the 121?

I have seen many for sale without lights, so I always assumed so.
You are correct that the NON light version is actually the 121 Station, and later retooled with both interior and exterior lighting and numbered 124.

Lionel stamped the bottom of th1 121-4 series of stations with the catalog number.
Cat #121 - no illumination
Cat #122 - one interior 18v bulb
Cat #123 - 110v interior bulb
Cat #124 - Two external bulbs plus one internal bulb
