Or you can reprogram using code 7 and the engine will run in conventional. This is for K-line engines with cruise. A lot cheaper then the $85.00 Cruise "M"

Boxcar Bill,  Doesn't work.  I just used 7.  Engine moves in conventional at about 1-2MPH only.  Same as it does with 4.

I did go back and check my r2LC code notes and 7 is used to keep serial data with directional info on in conventional.  I always thought it was used in conjunction with another number though.  G

G,

The 7 sets the serial for running in conventional mode. Are you trying a steam or diesel. I just opened a new K-line diesel to program it just to make sure I wasn't wrong. Using Aux1 8 the engine will not move in conventional, only Tmcc. Using Aux1 7 the engine will move in both Tmcc and conventional. I think you have other problems besides the programming

Bill Mine is the steam.  It moves, just very....very slowly.  No speed control.  I have seen this with 2 Allegheny's as I posted earlier in this thread.

Mine is upgraded with K-Line kit (I did it), and the other was a factory installed Cruise Allegheny.  Both sets of instructions said to use 4.   I have tried, 4, 7, 47, 74, 43, 34.  All work the same an the engine will move, just real slow.

So I don't know if there is a setting I should use for the cruise, or if the ERR codes, will work to turn off cruise so the engine will respond better.

Mine is a Ver 4.0 K-line cruise.  I know the 7 took, because the headlight behaved like a diesel, and when I went back to 4 it was constant.  Otherwise works perfectly in command, and can change speed steps etc....

I never noticed it until the customer bought the cruise version and only runs conventional.  Seems Bill above is having the same issue.  Runs in tmcc not conventional, so maybe he will try 7 and report.   G
