Help with Future Plastruc support project

I have not but I am sure it can be done. Just a lot of pieces to cut and plan.

The New Jersey Highrailers, as you know, make their own but out of thin Masonite material, not wood. They can make you anything you want.

I have an idea where to start,
I was just hoping someone else had made a plastruc girder deck structure,or supports,I wanted to get a visual.

I am in a similar situation. At some point in the very near future, I'm going to replace the 7' metal bridge deck with a wooden support structure. Four (probably) poplar 1" square pieces (painted black to simulate box beams) are going to run the length of the bridge. Some cross pieces will be used to give the beams some rigidity. The exact geometry is not yet finalized in my mind, but the goal is to support two tracks and the bridge superstructure (a thru-truss cantilever).

I have plenty of Plastruct beams to construct this. I even have the material to fabricate custom beams. You will have to stop over and look at some of this stuff. I do not use this material too much and have had it laying around for years. I think it will work for you.

I've made some in the past and the best advise I can give is to spend a little time and make yourself a good jig for holding the parts during assembly. If you cut the parts accurately the jig will make for some very nice pieces. Russ
