Help with New Caboose

I hope someone can help me with some info about a new caboose my son gave me for my birthday. As I dont have a large collection of Tin Plate rolling stock, I have a question about this piece. It is in very good condition, the interior lighting works very well, but I am curious as to how to get the knuckle to open. I dont want to force it and damage it so any help will be appreciated. My son gave me a link to LionelTrains 4457 Caboose but it only talks about the one with the "L" in the Blue curcle but not the one I have. I have added a few pictures that I hope will be helpful. Thanks for the information. I will look into aquiring the MTH track piece. I dont know very much about it but I never would have guessed that it was a repaint. Who ever did it must have taken the body off of the frame because there isnt any noticable over spray and there are these little tabs that look like they hold the body to the frame. Thank you very much for the information GrampsTrains. I guess repainting would lessen its value some. Thanks again.
