In reading the "What Track You Like Best" thread here and my own experiences with Atlas and ScaleTrax I have a question: Does Atlas have access to MTH ScaleTrax under their new agreement?
ScaleTrax was arguably the best-looking 3 rail track and their flex track was the easiest to use. It is unknown if it will be produced again as the original tie system was prototypically incorrect and didn't go over well with the 3 Rail Scale crowd. Would it be possible for Atlas to reissue their 3 rail O system using MTH outer rails and the inverted 'T' that ScaleTrax has? The two outer rails themselves are probably only slightly more than half the volume of metal and the middle blade is not nicklesilver which would save a lot of $$ and be cheaper to produce than Atlas's current track.
Some years ago I tried to create a better looking track by pulling all three rails from a section of Atlas and substituting MTH's outer 2 rails and the center blade which resulted in a much better looking track! It now appeared so much more prototypical (albeit with the middle blade) than any other 3 rail system I'd seen. Personally I like Atlas but feel the rails are far too large and bulky to look good with our usual equipment. ScaleTrax gives our locomotives and engines a far more massive appearance which is part of the illusion many of us are trying to achieve. See my photo below for example. This is ScaleTrax. Wouldn't look the same on Ross or Atlas.
How about it? Atas' promotional video shows their newly acquired MTH products all displayed on ScaleTrax.

Can you work something out with Mike to produce a hybrid system? Should sell like the proverbial hotcakes!
