Here's two locomotives that have not been done yet in O gauge, and could get a lot of mileage.

The B36-7's: with kinematic pilots and road specific detailing

IMG_5885Here is a lashup of B23-7's in conrail pulling a local freight to oak point yard in the Bronx. I would take either the B36-7's or the B23's yes with the kinematic pilots and road specific details.

Hopefully we get Brass Hybrid C&O Kanawhas & Virginian Berkshires:

I could definitely see Kanawhas as a possibility. MTH attempted them and did a fair job, so there is a market. That said, I'd leave these for 3rd Rail to do. I think 3rd Rail would be much better detail-wise, but Brass Hybrid is always good.

Never seen a Virginian Berk but I'm sure somebody would buy it. Doesn't look like it would be difficult to make either.

A new LCS product called the “Lionchief to Legacy Bridge”

I think another cool LCS product that lionel should make is a "DCS to Legacy bridge", I think it would be really cool to operate MTH locmotives on the legacy system.

Indeed Nick, it'd be fun to run MTH with Lionel engines, that really help us out over on the club layout as well. Anywho, I sadly doubt that Lionel will make a bridge system to there biggest competitors system, however I think there's a small model company trying to make a bridge themselves.

In the past, the problem wasn't Lionel's lack of interest.  Any time anyone proposed a third party use of DCS they received a letter from MTH or their lawyers.   Perhaps that has changed.

*MTH complains there systems are getting used by others*

*Steals and makes models from Lionel for tinplate models*

Ummmm...

MTH makes Lionel tinplate under license from Lionel.

Plus Jerry Williams was making reproduction Lionel tinplate long before MTH came along.

Before a war starts, shady things in business happen all the time and nobody is ever truly innocent. I can name 3 companies off the top of my head that have stolen from each other.

Hmm, well would I would like to see from Lionel in 2018 is a make of a legacy SDP40F. The loco could come in the 3 different Amtrak phases it served, and also have a Maseresk Sealand and ATSF rebuild scheme as after they where proven unreliable, some where sold to ATSF and made into FP45 rebuilds with freight equipment, while some where also sold to Maseresk Sealand where the last one in excistance resigns at Dynamic Rail Preservation Inc. You could also technically make them into a patched ATSF BNSF unit becaseu they served very little time of BNSF as well. Here is a picture of the loco below in a phase one paint scheme.

Alco HH660 would be a nice.

Yeah, it's always good to include shunters in catalogs that aren't of a lower quality or for starter kits, like the Lionel 16sb. In my opinion Lionel should try and make some more Alcos other than just the RS types in lioncheif. It'd look good to have a c-630 on a layout with a gp9, after all those where some of the RDG's favorite Diesels other than the RS and Fs. So yeah, I'd hope to see an Alco HH660 on the catalog as well.

Hey Lionel, how about a fix for my Mogul.  Would love to see that in 2018

You need to talk to the guy who posted the " Lionel Mogul Issues" thread :

"You all will have to be patient on this.  Lionel is on the ball, and frankly you do not know what and how Lionel is going about this but it will take time."

The Mogul problems were probably the the same reason the Cabbages were so bad. After talking to Dave Olson a bit, the reason the Cabbages and F40PHs were riddled with problems was because they were made by a new factory. That factory got a very stern talking to and will not be used again.
