I guess my question is, how do you hook up the Explorer unit to the layout such that you can also continue using the legacy remote for legacy locos.  CAn they both be hooked up at the same time?  Does one have to hook up into the other so that there's only one connection to the track?  Sorry for all the questions as I'm basically a novice trying to get my track power setup properly without breaking anything.

Thanks.

so does this mean, I would need to disconnect my legacy unit in order to get the explorer to work?   Can I have them both connected at the same time and just unplug the legacy when wanting to use the explorer and then plugging it back in and unplugging the explorer when wanting to use my legacy remote?  just trying to figure out how I can use both on my layout since I have a few MTH engines with proto 2 which would be great to use with the explorer I currently have, but also have legacy engines I want to use with the legacy remote.
