These Shawmut Line Diesels were done some time ago by Larry Eyman.

I had Jeff Sohn do some work on this paint project.  I did a lot of assembly, handrail, grab iron, and detail parts.

I ventured out on my own on the last two.

I have two more yet to be painted in Montour black.  Hopefully by spring. The Red and Yellow are from Atlas as the units were painted from EMD 1953/1954. There were (9) number 231 through 239. The second Repaints were done 1975 and 76.

here is a weaver U25B I stripped, redetailed and painted. The bug eyes are made of 0.40 styrene while the light area is tube styrene. The sunshades, and antenna are as well evergreen styrene modeled by me. The side mount bell is a atlas GP35 part, while the horn and wipers are precision parts. The paint is floquil engine black for the frames, fuel tank and underbody. floquil reefer yellow for the front and rear, scale coat CP rail red mixed 80-20 to white. decals are made by me and printed by modernrailgraphics. The finish is testors glosscoat mixed 85-15 with dullcoat, the finish matches MTH very well as well as lionel.

I made the decals myself as I couldn't find the correct CSX decals.....and while I was at it added the Chessie 'C'. Duplicolor and Tamiya paints. Note I also fix the fuel tank and a few other small details.

Subtle.  I like it.

I started with a MTH Twin Cities & Western GP20 and turned it into a Texas & Pacific GP18. modified the body by removing the turbo exhaust stack and adding twin exhaust stacks in proper place, added roof top bell, grad irons, Mars headlight housing, nose headlight all from a Red Caboose geep parts tree, decaled with Micro Scale T&P set.

Here are a few we've had painted over the  years

The MoPac and Santa Fe freights were originally Lionel Santa Fe  2353s and 2343s done by Nostalgia Train Works 25 years ago.

The D&RG 'Aspen Leaf' PAs I did myself using a Willaims model and added scratch-built fuel tanks to give a more massive appearance rather thna the 'high-water' look of Willaims diesels. There is a B unit also.

The Southern E6 No 2800 was a Lionel Burlington E5 I picked up on the bay.

Also a pre-war Lionel 224E restored by Forum member jumijo (great job!)

Need to find a tender for this beauty.

These help give the layout a little more variety on the roster...

"Torpedoes be d****d!  Full speed ahead!"  One thing I discovered on this forum, first

in Plasticville "bashing", and then, as on this thread, that nobody was terrorized by the money ogre, "collectibility".  I have proviously posted my home road colors of aspen yellow and spruce green on assorted kitbashed cars, rail buses, and gas electrics, and most recently a Lionel 0-8-0 (with others to follow).

Very interesting, and, encouraging.
