Hey Guys. Safely sleeping in a plastic tub of train items, I found this last weekend. It is a wrist watch and I assume "Lionel licensed" sold by "Telebrands". I had a few of them. I think my kids each had one and I used to wear one to work to irritate my draftsman buddies in the drawing room. This had to be 20 to 25 years ago. I could not find a date.

At a push of a button, the train would make "lifelike train sounds" much to my delight. The train constantly ran around the dial as the second hand.

Wow...still sealed in the original box! List price of $19.99. I am sure I paid a lot less. I do remember buying these at a Boscov's Department store at clearance. I like the logo "As Seen on TV".

Just something fun I thought I would share on this Wednesday morning.

Donald

Got the watch.  The button just made train noises.  The train on the face was the second hand so it was always in motion.  The batteries are dead in mine, but the watch wasn't made to be opened to replace them if I remember correctly.  I did manage to open mine, just haven't gotten farther.

Yes, now I remember. The back is a press fit and you need to try and pop it off. I also remember trying to replace batteries. There are (3) of them inside. One for the quartz movement and the other two for the sounds. The watch is fairly cheap in design and not really made to overhaul. Once I replaced the batteries, the time worked but no more sound. I still have mine just for sentimental reasons. I want to open up the new one in the box but I am afraid the batteries are corroded after all the years......just like the old F3's!

Yes I have the wrist watch, just took it out of the tin container and the band is very dry and cracking. The wall clock still hangs on the wall in the train room, with the batteries removed from the either 15 or 30 minute train that runs around the clock, it gets annoying . I also saw that I have the below Lionel Santa Fe pocket watch, which I forgot about.

I have the Lionel Lamp with the operating 5344 Hudson Locomotive.

Runs great....  very neat!

I also have the Hudson lamp....I bought it at Lowes of all places one Christmas season years ago. I also took it to work for quite a few years and had it sitting on my desk. When I needed a little pick-me-up, I would push the button and let the tiny Hudson cycle thru the sounds much to the dismay of my coworkers. Now retired, the lamp sits on a shelf in my HVAC / storage room but still functions as designed.

3Rail,

I literally have the exact same story. About a week ago I was organizing the attic and the never ending train boxes when I discovered a large misc plastic container. Nestled in it was the same watch you pictured here also sealed in its box. Too bad to think the battery is most likely dead never having been enjoyed. Live and learn!

Yep. After 20 years or more, that battery is toast. Most likely corroded the inside. Actually, there are 3 batteries in there. 1 for the watch and 2 for the sounds. I am torn if I should should open mine or just keep it like it is.
