How to activate MTH Proto 2 Subway Announcements

I have a used MTH Proto 2 subway that I purchased from a LHS without any box or instructions. It's red in color and says it's the number 4 Lexington Ave. Woodlawn Express. I only run conventional using the MTH Z4000 transformer.

How does one activate the station announcements for this Proto 2 subway so it automatically stops, makes the announcements and starts us again?

I have a Proto 1 subway (the one that says Yankee Stadium 161st Street), and by pressing the bell button for a few seconds and then releasing it, the subway automatically stops, ann po ounces and starts up again. When I did this for the red Proto 2 subway, it didn't do that automatic sequence but otherwise works fine.

I think I figured it out. For MTH Proto 2 subways, to get the train to automatically stop, announce and start again, you press the bell button for a few seconds, release it and then press the directional button so it stops. Then, it will automatically announce and start up again. Arnold

To activate the Transit Announcement Sounds (TAS) on PS2 subways, you need to press the bell button for ~2 seconds. Since you said that you do not have a manual, here is a pdf of a Railking PS2 subway manual from the MTH website: https://www.mthtrains.com/site...tion/30rtr19065i.pdf

If you look on page on page 6, there is a table that shows all of the commands for PS2 subway sets when in conventional mode. I hope this helps! thumb
