Not sure if posted before but how do you reply to a WTB post.  What kind of reply would get deleted.

The best way to handle it is to go the poster's profile and use their email address to respond, presumably with information about the item that you have and they are looking to buy.

In other words, don't negotiate out in the "open" on the Forum. Do it privately one-on-one via email.

Occasionally someone posts an item for sale, perhaps unaware of the selling guidelines, and they are neither Digital Subscribers, nor do they have an email listed in their profile.

What should an interested buyer do in this situation?  Is it okay for the prospective buyer to post a Wanted To Buy (with the item's description and maybe with the @SELLER's Forum Handle in the Topic post and hope that the seller sees it?

Edit:  Sorry @Rich Melvin you posted while I was typing.

Just my opinion but, I would send an Alert to the Forum Moderators. That way they could either delete the offender's post, or they could notify him/her that they have not posted any method of contacting them in order for someone to purchase the item.

Well,  it seems that according RSJB18 replies are not permitted on the WTB board.  Funny, there are a lot of them.

I never try to negotiate on line but rather via e-mail.  if I have an item that someone wants I will contact them via e-mail,  assuming they have an e-mail address in their profile.

I’m just trying to follow the rules.

That’s because his post is only partially correct.  Replies are not allowed on the FS board, but they are allowed on the WTB board.
