"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

Randomly stumbled across this on Youtube.  Huge HO layout in northern Indiana.  Sounds like the outbuilding is at least 5000 square feet.  Does anyone know anything about the owner?

Wow, that is amazing, but I’m not sure how much I like it.  Seems so narrow in most parts of the layout, maybe cuz I’m used to o scale.  Might be a bit more impressive if there were trains running on it, everything is just sitting there lifeless.  Def cool tho, gotta hand it to the guy’s ambition.

The videos were shot and posted by a layout builder who was involved in the project.  I suspect that he'll post additional videos as more progress is made.

IMO, although it's impressive, it looks somewhat generic and doesn't have a lot of operational potential - seems to be designed mostly for run-bys.

I did a bit more looking, and there will be an open house for attendees of the NMRA regional convention in South Bend in early May.  Convention info at, and the link for the layout is  These links also answer the question of who owns the layout.
