Hi guys: Due to the passing of my lovely wife after 55 years of marriage, I had to move to Chandler AZ to live with my daughter.  I had to totally take my 25ft.x50ft layout apart in order to bring it with me, buy a house (I do not know when) and see when can I build my layout again.   In the mean time I would like to get in touch with train guys like me in this city, my e-mail is: dmagnatti@gmail.com

Welcome!  There are some very active O gauge groups here locally in the Phoenix Metro Area.

Desert Division TCA meets at least 8 times a year and the next club meeting is the second Saturday in June.  There are train meets in Glendale in July and Prescott in August.  TCA starts meeting monthly again in September and we have our public swap meet in November.  We also have two annual public auctions with a minimum of 300 lots in November and January.  Finally we have a trailer layout that has traveled across the state and to California and New Mexico for the public.

We also have the Paradise and Pacific O gauge club at the Scottsdale McCormick-Stillman Railroad park.  It is a great club with a 32'x40' public layout and the people are equally as great.  I will hopefully be operating on that layout on Monday.

Finally we have the Grand Canyon Model Railroaders which is a former TTOS division.  This is the one O club I am not a member of, but they are also a good group.  They also meet frequently and have a modular layout that they operate for the public at times.

My email is in my profile so feel free to reach out.  I have been active in the O gauge community in the Phoenix area since 2001 when I first became a TCA member.  Prior to that I was all HO and N and did not have a club affiliation.

Churu,

As the President of the Paradise & Pacific RR Club at McCormick-Stillman RR Park in Scottsdale, Welcome to the valley.

We gather every Thursday , some starting in the early morning, 3 of the Thursdays are just social and have a theme for that weeks Bragging Rights display and show and tell, we go to dinner before the show and tell which is about 7pm depending on the time the Model Railroad building closes to the public. We have over 100 members, as members we get assigned run days on each weekend, typically 3-4 a year where you have the entire layout to you and your run partners delight for that Saturday or Sunday, the building is accessible by members 362 days a year from 6 am till 10pm.

This next Thursday June 2, 2022 is our business meeting (Always the 1st Thursday of the month except July and August when we recess for the summer) at 7pm in the building. If you come before 5 pm, we rally to a local restaurant for dinner before the meeting at 5, and spend the time socializing and talking trains until the meeting. The clubs age ranges from 19 years old to mid 80's, and we all enjoy the company of train addicts.
