Improving Fastrack uncoupler sections suggestions?

Bought several new Lionel Fastrack uncoupler sections. Seems that its a hit or miss on opening the couplers, especially the flat hidden plates. Any suggestions on improving the magnetic power, etc.?

I checked each section and they are getting the full 18 volts, even bench tested them.

The old tubular tracks I had in place before, no problems. Thanks

I just followed Lionel suggestion and took red wire off and connected to a constant 14 Volts. Works
